ICD9 to ICD10 Conversion Tool
Challenge
A large healthcare provider had a complex system of ICD9 codes in their diagnosis database, and needed to upgrade and migrate this data to the new ICD10 standard which was being enforced as of October 2015.
The company hired Unstoppable Software to build a tool that would manage and automate this migration based on defined rules.
Results
We developed a Windows-based desktop application that converted the ICD9 codes to their ICD10 counterparts, a process which, compared to the option of manually entering codes, saved approximately 3-4 months of effort for a team of 5 employees.
